New Website and Enhanced Guest Experience at CAK
GREEN, Ohio – Akron-Canton Airport (CAK) is celebrating its 80th anniversary on October 13, marking eight decades of connecting Northeast Ohio to opportunity. The milestone also marks the launch of a refreshed brand identity and redesigned website that reflect CAK’s continued commitment to providing a welcoming, convenient travel experience.
The anniversary celebration kicked off October 4 with the CAK Runway 5K, which welcomed more than 1,200 participants to MAPS Air Museum. Proceeds from the event support the preservation of aviation history at MAPS, while community donations generated 1,374 meals for the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank.
“Local airports enhance residents’ quality of life, connect businesses to the world and contribute to regional economic prosperity. CAK is proud to serve that role for Northeast Ohio,” said Ren Camacho, CAK President and CEO. “We are proud to celebrate 80 years of community stewardship alongside our passengers, airport partners and employees, and we look forward to building on that legacy for generations to come.”
CAK opened in October 1946, welcoming 25,000 people to its two-day dedication ceremony. Commercial airline service began in 1948 with American, Capital, Eastern and United Airlines. From serving 43,032 passengers in its first year of commercial service, CAK has grown to welcome nearly 1 million travelers annually.
Throughout the anniversary celebration, travelers visiting CAK can enjoy passenger appreciation activities, photo opportunities and treats in the terminal as the airport celebrates this milestone with the community it serves.
The anniversary also provides an opportunity to look ahead. In partnership with creative agency TRIAD, CAK has launched a redesigned website and refreshed brand identity that better reflects the airport’s welcoming, customer-focused experience. The updated brand features a more vibrant visual identity, an enhanced color palette, new merchandise and a fresh marketing campaign.
“As we look to the future, we want to deliver a consistent experience from the first online interaction to the moment travelers arrive at the airport,” said Lisa Dalpiaz, Vice President of Air Service and Business Development. “Our refreshed brand more accurately reflects the friendly, fun and genuine experience we strive to provide every passenger, employee, airline partner and community stakeholder.”
The redesigned website offers a more intuitive, engaging and user-friendly experience, making it easier for travelers to plan their trips and access the information they need. Together, the website and brand refresh reinforce CAK’s commitment to making travel easier, strengthening regional connections and providing a better way to go.
