Frontier Airlines Brings Low Fares, Seatback TVs to the Akron/Canton/ Cleveland Market
Frontier Today Unlocks the Western U.S. for Underserved Northeastern Ohio Travelers
DENVER (June 15, 2005) - Frontier Airlines (Nasdaq: FRNT) will begin new service between its Denver International Airport (DEN) hub and Akron-Canton Airport (CAK) in Ohio, beginning today, June 15, 2005 with its first flight from Denver which will depart at 10:40 AM MDT, arriving in Akron-Canton at 3:20 PM EDT. The two daily non-stops between Denver and Akron-Canton will utilize Frontier's new 132 seat Airbus 319 aircraft, with 33 inches of legroom, 24 channels of LiveTV and pay-per-view movies. The new service will also connect Northeast Ohio to dozens of Frontier cities throughout the West and Mexico.
"Since we first announced this new service, we have seen a tremendous response from Northeast Ohio, which confirms for us the fact that Ohio is an underserved market for low fares to the West" said Paul Tate, senior vice president and chief financial officer. "However, it is also important to recognize that our strong bookings between Denver and Akron-Canton are also directly tied to the relationship we have developed with the Akron-Canton airport, and their subsequent support of Frontier within the greater Akron/ Canton/ Cleveland community. We look forward to serving Northeast Ohio with LiveTV, pay-per-view movies, comfortable seats and the industry's finest service from the industry's best employees."
"Frontier Airlines' low-fare, high-quality service gives passengers a better option when they are heading out west," said airport director Fred Krum. "They are the undisputed leader in affordable west coast flying and we offer a great airport experience that customers prefer. Beginning today, flying to Denver and beyond just got a lot better for travelers in our region."
