Green, OH: Akron-Canton Airport (CAK) is jumping today! To celebrate an incredible milestone, breaking our all-time passenger record, we are hosting a big bash to thank our customers for making it happen. Our customer appreciation day allows all of us at CAK to show our gratitude and to reward our customers with the chance to win some great prizes. Our CAK Thank You Crew will be in the main atrium with free coffee, cookies, chair massages and bag tags for every customer. Everyone who flies into/out of the airport today will take home something cool. So why all the fuss? At the end of the day, the passenger count will reach 1,470,000 total passengers, exceeding our all-time passenger tally (1,469,000) set in 2008.
"We are so grateful to every traveler who took a trip from CAK this year," said Rick McQueen, president and CEO. "We welcomed a lot of new customers in 2010, many of whom were using our airport for the first time. Once they experience the difference- shorter lines, less stress, and our sparkling clean facility- they come back again and again. It seemed only fitting to thank our amazing customers, new and longstanding, who made our new record a reality."
What can Akron-Canton Airport customers expect today? Surprises include a drawing for two business class tickets on AirTran Airways and mystery amount ($10-50) Fly Bucks cards for every Frontier Airlines' passenger. Our friendly skycaps will work without tips for the day and our parking lot partner, Standard Parking, will give every customer a window scraper as they exit the parking lot or ride the shuttle to the main terminal. Other raffles include a one-night stay at Cambria Suites from the Akron/Summit County Convention & Visitors Bureau and a one-night stay at the Courtyard Marriott in Canton from the Canton/Stark County Convention & Visitors Bureau. Hertz customers can enter to win $50 off a future rental. Metro RTA and Sarta RTA are providing free bus service to and from CAK all day. And, Santa Claus will be welcoming passengers to CAK from 11 a.m.
