Access to Rental Lot from CAK Main Entrance

GREEN, OH -- The Akron-Canton Airport is almost tripling its rental car capacity to the equivalent of 428 parking spaces* on September 1 when its new rental car drop-off and pick-up lot opens. Visitors may now access the new rental car lot from the airport’s main entrance and follow signs to rental cars.

The new lot, located directly across from the terminal, is part of the $13.1 million investment in parking and airport entrance improvements. Other improvements completed to date include a new entrance road and loop with commercial lanes, LED lighting, and new entrance and exit plazas. The final improvement project to the airport entrance area, to be completed in November, is a 240-space, covered parking lot.

“These improvements are all about improving the customer experience at the airport,” said Akron-Canton Airport President and CEO, Rick McQueen . “We want customers to have a great experience flying through CAK, which starts when you enter the airport property.”

Previously, rental car customers would enter the rental lot off of Lauby Road just south of the main entrance. The move to a larger lot not only provides much needed capacity today and in the future, but also opens up the former rental spot space for future gate expansion.

The Akron-Canton Airport is currently serviced by the following rental car companies: Alamo, Avis, Budget, Hertz, Dollar Thrifty, Enterprise and National.

*Rental lot includes car ready and drop off lanes as well as rental parking spaces.
